Research and Development News
WEDO is currently cooperating with several institutes including the Deutsche Institut für Textil- und Faserforschung Denkendorf DITF – The German Institute for Textile and Filament Reasearch in Denkendorf. The DITF is the largest research institute of its kind in Europe. Within the framework of a research project headed by the AIF (explanation of abbreviation below) on the subject of capillary vertical kinetics in which capillary action of fluids in various filament structures were examined to create an algorithm to determine the maximal vertical height of ascent as well as the climb rate. WEDO contributed to the research and Martin Schmidt – Head of Technical Braids Division at WEDO – gave a presentation at the closing workshop on the subject of capillary wicks. The research results of the AIF capillary vertical kinetics project are being applied to our current ZIM research project (explanation of abbreviation below) “capillary irrigation systems”.
