Wedo receives „Digitalization Best Practice” award from Chamber of Commerce
Digitalization is being introduced more than ever before in companies in general – Wedo is no exception. This has significant benefits and further potential for ourselves and our customers. For example in future customers will be able to exchange data with us via a secure interface. Internally we will be able to scan and store data pertaining to all aspects and materials involved enabling us to greatly improve and speed up traceability.
A further aim is to use digitalization to improve machine utilization – which will in turn help us to further optimize lead times for customers.
Whereas we have been using a number of software systems for some years now in Production and Order Processing, we saw further benefits in introducing a unified and fully integrated ERP system, covering all processes. Top priority in this project was to ensure implementation without disruption to existing processes. The modules Order Processing, Warehousing, Invoicing and Shipping have all been successfully introduced. Further modules will follow to make Wedo a complete and efficient digitalized company.
Support from the Chamber of Commerce innovation program and award
We received wide ranging support from the Chamber of Commerce innovation program for digitalization projects in small and medium sized companies – and in the end received the award “Best Practice Example” – a great honour for us.
If you follow the link below you will arrive at a video produced by the Chamber of Commerce which features an interview with our Managing Director Helmut Gutberlet. Further information is also available for download – unfortunately this is only available in German, but we hope that this article serves to provide a basic insight into the project and measures which already have been and will be taken.
